Runaround
After completing the Meta Meta, hunters find a message from DeepSleep on the hunt website, giving instructions to text NOBEARS to a telephone number. When they do, they get instructions to meet someone at the grizzly statue in front of the Cal Memorial Stadium.
When they go there, they are given an envelope containing containg four location-based puzzles and some instructions. The envelope has BEARS ARE PUN written on it.
The first puzzle is at the Les Bears statue in the Haas courtyard.
After solving this puzzle, teams received the text message: "We have bearly begun to uncover whatever embearassing secrets are on campus."
The second puzzle is at the Campanille, near the bear statue bench.
After solving this puzzle, teams received the text message: "Abearently, any damage will be rebearable."
The third puzzle is at the lounging bear statues between O'Brien and Davis.
After solving this puzzle, teams received the text message: "We will bring rebearcussions to their imbeared leadership."
The fourth puzzle is at the courtyard in front of Zellerbach Hall near the golden bear on a pedistal.
After solving this puzzle, teams received the text message: "This exbeariment has been difficult, but we will recupbearate."
DeepSleep instructs teams that a messenger with these items (the puzzle answers) will meet them at Bear HQ.
A code that can be exchanged for the location of Bear HQ can be found in the text messages.
